Interesting one! Do you maybe think (despite all odds and your dislike for the carpets) that buying said carpet (in whatever sense) would be like a letting go and making the trip shift? Also, that's the irony of our minds and/or psychedelics for you - sometimes the trip just wants to be straining and exhausting, even when you'd wish for a chance either towards fun or horror. It just wanted to be a mediocre, dull, annoying ugly carpet shop - not a scary one, just a shitty one. xD
