Physical fatigue (or muscle fatigue) is the temporary physical inability of a muscle to perform optimally. Physical fatigue is a side effect characterized by feelings of tiredness and weakness. It can occur after prolonged physical exertion and extended periods of wakefulness. People who are fatigued may find it difficult to complete physical tasks, converse, focus, or even think straight. It can generally be treated by having a period of rest or sleep.
