This is a basic recipe for sweet, chewy and gooey chocolate cake that includes cannabis to simply make classical cannabis brownies.

Ingredients

Cocoa is yummy! However, some cocoa strains have high caffeine content, and stimulants combined with psychedelics should be used with caution.

The Forastero strain contains virtually no caffeine, while the Criollo contains a lot of caffeine.

To make chocolate, it's safer to mix cocoa solids with specified strain and white chocolate, or just using white chocolate, rather than using baking chocolate without any strain declared in the ingredients.

For 24 brownies.

  • Cannabis in any form
  • Roasted hazelnuts 100 g
  • Butter 250 g
  • Cocoa 2 dl
  • Eggs 4
  • Powdered sugar 4½ dl
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Vanilla powder 1/2 tsp
  • Wheat flour 3 dl
  • Baking powder ½ tsp

Procedures

  • Set the oven to 175 °C. Place baking paper in a square shape, approx. 20x30 cm.
  • Grind cannabis buds, melt hash, etc, depending on your cannabis form. Chop the nuts. Melt the butter and stir in the cocoa.
  • Mix eggs and sugar in a bowl. Stir in the cocoa mixture, salt, vanilla powder, nuts and the flour mixed with baking powder
  • Spread the batter in the mold. Bake in the middle of the oven for 20 min.
  • Let cool and cut the cake into squares. Store in refrigerator.

Decarboxylation calculation

Fat will be almost double as hot as water. For example, deep-frying is usually 175-190 °C (350-375 °F). Water evaporates at 100 °C. Brownie dough contains about the same amount of water (from eggs), and fat. The estimated temperature in an oven of 175 °C might give a temperature of 137 °C for the brownie dough ((100 °C from eggs + 175 °C from oil) / 2) which could be used as a defined decarboxylation temperature. The math can be debated, however, this explains that oil impacts the decaboxylation time. As a result, we don't recommend more than 20 minutes in the oven, to avoid decomposition of THC. 20 minutes is the minimum time to bake brownies, it's just 5 minutes longer than it takes to decaboxylate THCA into THC at 137 °C based on this calculator. Expect 25% of loss of THC (5 min÷20 min).
