Please reset your caffeine tolerance before you begin

Around 80% of the world population consumes caffeine. You need to make sure that you don't have any caffeine tolerance at all to experience the magic of cocoa, since it contains only 1/5th caffeine of a cup of coffee. It may take 4-8 weeks of caffeine abstinence to reset tolerance in regular users.[1]

Ingredients

For everyday use, I recommend a light dose when you wake up, and another light dose in the middle of the day. To save you some time, see the common dosage to make a batch for two light doses.

For cocoa ceremonies, go for a single dose of 20-40 grams of cocoa.

Level Cocoa powder
per 65 kg body weight
Other ingredients
Threshold 5 grams, or 1 tbsp Tolerable daily intake of cinnamon.[1] 200 mL soy milk
Light 10 grams, or 2 tbsp Tolerable daily intake of cinnamon.[1] 200 mL soy milk
Common 20 grams, or 4 tbsp Tolerable daily intake of cinnamon.[1] 200 mL soy milk
Strong 30 grams, or 6 tbsp Tolerable daily intake of cinnamon.[1] 200 mL soy milk.
Heavy 40 grams, or 8 tbsp Tolerable daily intake of cinnamon.[1] 200 mL soy milk

1: "The tolerable daily intake for coumarin is 0.05 mg per pound (0.1 mg per kg) of body weight". Cinnamomum Burmanii is the cinnamon variety with the highest coumarin content: 5 mg/g. 1 mL fine ground Cinnamomum Burmanii weight about 429 mg. 0.429 g Cinnamomum Burmanii * 5 mg coumarin = 2,145 mg coumarin. Tolerable Cinnamomum Burmanii TDI with density 0.429 for an 80 kilo person: (0.1×80)÷2,145 = 3,72960373 ~= 3,7 mL = 1,6 g

  • Ecological products are recommended.
  • Some sweet spice like natural sugar substitute, like cinnamon, cardamom, or clove. to replace 1 tbsp table sugar (sucrose), for example 1 tsp cinnamon. Also, sugar-free chocolate milk is a useful weight loosing aid in contrast to sugar based chocolate milk.
  • Soy milk: High in protein, low in [liquid] carbohydrates.

Procedures

  1. Use a fine strainer to get rid of large particles from the spices, this is for example common with cinnamon. This is an important step because they will not be ground in the blender.
  2. Do not heat the milk, as it will possibly destroy sensitive compounds in the cocoa powder.
  3. Put the milk in the blender/shaker
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients
  5. Mix for one minute in a blender, or shake vigorously for a minute in a shaker — you cannot beat a blender when it comes to smoothness, but a shaker is definitely your friend when you are on the go.
