General guidelines when editing PW to keep the data consistent:
- CONSULT THE Special:RecentChanges PAGE REGULARLY TO KNOW WHICH CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE RECENTLY
- Please get acquainted with the Wiki markup/formatting.
- Please use the "Move" function to move pages, instead of deleting the original page and recopying it manually into the new one, as to not lose all the edit history.
- Please make page names singular, like in an encyclopedia. Redirects can be made to singular pages. It will also help for translations in the future. Category names shall be made plural (?).
- The top level header (=Title=) has almost never any reason to be used in practice, as it is the page's title. In other words, top sections should be Level 2 (==Section==). [1]
- Please use "File:" instead of "Image:" when linking to an image when possible, since "Image:" is the legacy way. [2]
- Please use the Template:Substance template for new substances as it will simplify the database a great deal. It will definitely be needed for version 1.0 release. Implementation help is available on the template talk page.
