Essential oils

Citrus Oils

Citrus oils--lemon, lime, orange and possibly grapefruit-- provoke a debatably psychedelic response in the majority of users. They can be taken orally, in a carrier oil, or applied topically (though can cause irritation or rashes--test a very small amount before use). Menthol and camphor appear to speed topical absorption, though should not be used orally. Effects set in over forty minutes to 2 hours.

Elemi oil/Elemicin

Elemi oil is quite variable from person to person. Thought to be one of the active constituents of nutmeg, elemicn is markedly psychedelic, though many show little reaction.

  • Highly variable, never more than several hours.
