Increased focus is the cognitive process of an increased ability to selectively concentrate on one aspect of the environment while ignoring other things. In the context of substance usage, many drugs create feelings of intense focus, attention and concentration which can allow one to remain productive for long periods of time. This is mainly an effect of stimulating drugs and is probably best characterized by an ability to focus on and preform tasks in shorter amounts of time and with greater fluidity and ease.
